Classic Chocolate Bread

Ingredients:

 

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup evaporated milk or regular milk

2 Tbsp butter

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

8 slices Evangeline Maid Bread

2 Eggs

1/4 tsp salt

 
 

 

Directions:

 

In a small saucepan, blend the sugar and cocoa powder. Add the milk and butter. Stir or whisk over medium heat until the mixture starts to turn creamy. Dip and coat the slices of bread on both side. Bake at 325 degree for 1 hour.

Serve Warm.

Additional milk may be added for a thinner sauce if preferred.
